Brenk Sinatra
Music and Motion
Brenk Sinatra, Austrian composer, musician and rapper honored me to be a part of his 2022 release, Gumbo III, for making motion graphic.
Entrance
When Austrian composer and rapper Brenk Sinatra reached me via my best friend Shahram Alizadeh, to make videos out of his latest upcoming release "Gumbo III" (listen here), with visuals based on cover art done by Cone the Weird, I had no idea how to imagine a story or scenario for such music, as my taste of music flavored with Rock often, which mostly has lyrics on it, and lyrics describe Musician's mind to audience and it's so much easier to understand the musician, while the Instrumental let you create your own world out of the music (in my opinion) so it's get harder to make something looks good to original artist.
Experience
I listen to Chillout music sometimes, which makes me feel free and relaxed and out of the day routines.
Slow beats, ambiences and all those retro SFXs make me feel energic, youthful and strong, while feel so cozy!
Brenk made same thing to me with this album, I was comfort to listening to them, and it was a surreal trip for sure to toss me to a new journey where I could imagine unimaginable!
Performance
As I'm a kind of designer who looks for facts and not just mixing or animating some images beside each other, I started to renew my thoughts on the content music artist sent to me.
I started to stare at the magnificent cover art, watching title of the tracks and imagine strange things out the feeling of the melodies and sound of tracks and the Words used in their titles, also listening to music for hours, and then the Idea started get formed! then I started to doodle on paper and an idea got into my mind which ended up into some story boards and story sheets...
The whole idea was about a Spaceship that crashes into an Unknown Planet (which WE already do know as Planet Wave (records)) | (Track1 - "Enter: Planet Wave"), filled with strange red puff flowers, an Astronaut gets out of the Spaceship and "Maybe" these flowers made our Astronaut felt Hallucinated to trip all tracks of the album, and after that he manages to escape the planet somehow on last track of the album "Exit: Planet Wave".
This is my procedure of design, I crave to find a scenario for the design, even if it just came into my mind in a glimpse, because with fact, logic and script, ideas get stronger, they get reason to live; With these bonds designer have points of Beginning, Narrate and The End, and design takes more personality, more characteristics.
With deadline we had, the results were two full-length music videos for tracks "Eternal 1220" and "Exit: Planet Wave" and two loop motion graphics for full album release and track "Gorilla State of Mind".
Khadydemon Shojaie Matin is an expert designer, this project has happened with her help with a lot more sweetness and ease. Thank you girl!"
Here is a reel footage that shows solid version of the 3D-Scenes and Sprite Planes they have Transparent artwork on them.
The project done-almost all of it- inside Blender 3D Software.
I used BSDF Diffuse Shaders with Shader to RGB converter to limit the shading effect via a Gradient into the color pallet of the album cover art, and with that there were almost no post-productions applied to the final video. It saved me lots of time and resources.
Also, lots of Sprites made for these videos, which separated from main album art by magical works of Khadydemon.
